Description
Fluke 1520 MegOhmMeter Repair and Calibration
The Fluke 1520 is an insulation resistance tester (megohmmeter) — it applies selectable DC test voltages and measures insulation resistance with PI/DAR diagnostics for motor, cable, and equipment testing, with data storage and PC download. The hardworking part is the high-voltage generator, so that’s where most faults originate, along with the measurement and interface.
June Company repairs and calibrates the Fluke 1520 for electrical maintenance crews and motor shops.
Common Fluke 1520 problems we fix
- Communication failures — won’t download to the PC or transfer stored data, the interface repaired.
- HV generator faults — won’t reach test voltage or output is low, repaired for full rated voltage.
- Measurement drift — resistance readings drifting or unstable, recalibrated against standards.
- Diagnostic ratios not calculating — PI/DAR functions, restored.
- Display, battery, or terminal faults.
FAQs
My 1520 won’t download or reach voltage — fixable? Yes. Interface and HV-generator faults are repairable, then the tester is verified and recalibrated so it delivers full voltage and accurate readings, with a NIST-traceable certificate.
Are the diagnostics verified? Yes — PI/DAR are checked along with recalibration.
Every repair includes NIST-traceable calibration and a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty. Email us or submit a service request.
