Description

Fluke 1550B Calibration

The Fluke 1550B is an insulation tester, and calibrating one means checking two very different things: that it actually produces the high test voltage it claims, and that it measures the resulting tiny leakage current correctly. A tester delivering 300 V while reporting 1000 V still returns a perfectly plausible resistance figure.

Calibration of the Fluke 1550B is performed at June Company for electrical contractors, maintenance electricians, motor shops, and cable testing crews. Every point is measured against reference standards, with as-found readings recorded before any adjustment and as-left readings afterwards, so you can see what condition the instrument was actually in when it arrived.

What we verify on the Fluke 1550B

  • Actual test voltage output at each nominal setting – the check that cannot be inferred from the resistance reading.
  • Insulation resistance across every decade of range.
  • Low-resistance and continuity functions.
  • Voltage measurement and live-circuit detection.
  • Automatic discharge after test.
  • Timed and ramp test functions where fitted.

FAQs

How often should this be calibrated? Most quality systems work on an annual interval, though how hard the instrument is used and how critical its readings are should drive that decision rather than the calendar alone.

Do I get as-found data, or only the final result? Both. As-found readings are recorded before any adjustment and as-left afterwards, which is what tells you whether the instrument was in tolerance during the work you already did with it.

Calibration is documented and returned with the instrument. If we find a fault that calibration cannot correct, we quote the repair before going any further. Email us or submit a service request.
