Description
Associated Research 8257 Safety Tester Repair
The Associated Research 8257 (HypotULTRA) is an electrical safety compliance analyzer — it performs AC/DC hipot, insulation resistance, and ground-bond testing in one instrument for production safety testing of products to UL/IEC standards. It combines an HV source, leakage metering, and a high-current ground-bond source, so faults can appear across all three functions.
June Company repairs and calibrates the Associated Research 8257 for production safety-test and QC teams.
Common Associated Research 8257 problems we fix
- Leakage-current measurement off — the metering your hipot pass/fail depends on, recalibrated against standards.
- Ground-bond won’t reach current — the high-current GB source, repaired so it sources full bond current.
- HV won’t reach voltage or trips — HV output-stage faults, rebuilt.
- Insulation-resistance function faulty — the IR measurement, restored.
- Interlock, display, or control faults.
FAQs
My ground-bond test won’t reach current — fixable? Yes. The GB high-current source is repairable, then verified so the bond test sources full current and passes/fails correctly, with a NIST-traceable certificate.
Are all three functions verified? Yes — hipot, IR, and ground bond are checked against our standards.
Every repair includes NIST-traceable calibration and a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty. Email us or submit a service request.
