Description
Fluke 1503 Insulation Tester Repair and Calibration
The Fluke 1503 is a handheld insulation resistance tester (megohmmeter) — it applies selectable DC test voltages (to 1000 V) and measures insulation resistance for motor, cable, and equipment testing. The hardworking part is the high-voltage generator, so that’s where most faults originate, along with the measurement circuit.
June Company repairs and calibrates the Fluke 1503 for electrical maintenance crews and field technicians.
Common Fluke 1503 problems we fix
- HV generator faults — won’t reach the selected test voltage or output is low, repaired for full rated voltage.
- Measurement drift — insulation-resistance readings drifting or unstable, recalibrated against standards.
- Range/voltage selection faults — intermittent selection from switch/contact wear.
- Display segments missing or dim — display faults, repaired.
- Won’t power on — battery-contact or power faults.
FAQs
My 1503 won’t reach test voltage — fixable? Yes. HV generator faults are the usual cause and they’re repairable, then verified so the tester delivers full rated voltage and your readings are valid, with a NIST-traceable certificate.
Do you calibrate the resistance ranges? Yes — checked against our standards.
Every repair includes NIST-traceable calibration and a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty. Email us or submit a service request.
