Description
Megger MFM10 Fault Location System Repair
The Megger MFM10 is a cable fault location system — a combined instrument that uses surge (thumper), TDR, and prelocation methods to find and pinpoint faults in underground power cables. It pairs a high-voltage surge/measurement section with TDR and measurement electronics, so faults concentrate in the surge-generation (HV) section, the TDR/measurement system, the impedance-matching, and the control interface.
June Company repairs and calibrates the Megger MFM10 for cable-fault and utility crews.
Common Megger MFM10 problems we fix
- Impedance-matching drift — the matching network that couples to the cable drifting, affecting fault location, repaired and recalibrated.
- Surge-generation faults — won’t build or discharge the surge correctly, the HV section repaired.
- TDR / prelocation faults — the TDR not measuring distance correctly, repaired.
- Control / interface faults — the control electronics, restored.
- Power or connection faults.
FAQs
My MFM10 won’t locate faults accurately — fixable? Yes. Impedance-matching, surge, and TDR faults are repairable, then verified so the fault-location functions work correctly, with documented results.
Is the surge output verified? Yes — the HV surge output is checked along with the TDR.
Every repair includes calibration verification and a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty. Email us or submit a service request.
