Description
Megger MCTT-10 Transformer Tester Repair
The MCTT-10 is a multi-function transformer test set built around tap-changer and transformer testing to ANSI/IEEE C57 — combining ratio, winding-resistance, and tap-changer dynamic-resistance measurement so a crew can characterize a transformer and its OLTC in one workflow. With several measurement functions on board, repairs touch both the measurement circuitry and the test-current source.
June Company repairs and calibrates the MCTT-10 for transformer crews testing windings and on-load tap changers.
Common MCTT-10 problems we fix
- Tap-changer test won’t run cleanly — the dynamic-resistance measurement that detects OLTC make-before-break problems, repaired so transitions read correctly.
- Ratio or resistance readings off — measurement-circuit drift across the test functions, recalibrated to ANSI/IEEE C57 accuracy.
- Test current won’t reach value — current-source degradation affecting winding-resistance readings.
- Won’t connect or download — interface faults to the test PC.
- Display or control faults.
FAQs
My tap-changer results look wrong — fixable? Yes. OLTC dynamic-resistance problems usually trace to the measurement circuit or current source, both repairable, then verified so tap transitions are characterized correctly.
Is calibration to C57 included? Yes — recalibrated against our standards with a NIST-traceable certificate covering the test functions.
Every repair includes NIST-traceable calibration and a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty. Email us or submit a service request.
