HVI VLF-65CMF Hipot Tester Repair
The HVI (High Voltage Inc.) VLF-65CMF is a 65 kV VLF (very-low-frequency) hipot test set — it applies 0.1 Hz high voltage to withstand-test and diagnose medium- and high-voltage cable insulation, including tan-delta diagnostics, where DC or power-frequency AC would be unsuitable. It combines a VLF HV source with leakage/diagnostic measurement, so faults span the HV side and the measurement side both.
June Company repairs and calibrates the HVI VLF-65CMF for cable-testing and utility crews.
Common HVI VLF-65CMF problems we fix
- HV output-stage failure — won’t reach VLF test voltage or output unstable, the HV stage repaired for stable rated output.
- VLF waveform faults — the 0.1 Hz waveform distorted or off-frequency, corrected.
- Tan-delta / leakage measurement off — the diagnostic measurement, recalibrated against standards.
- Internal HV arcing or leakage — insulation breakdown from stress.
- Control or interlock faults.
FAQs
My VLF-65CMF won’t reach voltage — repairable? Yes. HV output-stage faults are serviceable; we restore stable rated VLF output and recalibrate the measurement, with a NIST-traceable certificate.
Is the tan-delta function verified? Yes — diagnostic measurement and VLF output are checked against our standards.
Every repair includes NIST-traceable calibration and a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty. Email us or submit a service request.
