Overview
The HVI CDS (Cable Diagnostic System) and VT series provide integrated cable fault location capability combining surge generation (thumping), TDR, and DC hipot functions. The CDS-3632U is HVI’s top-of-line system with 32 kV surge capability and integrated TDR. The CDS-3616U provides 16 kV surge output. The CDS-2010U offers a compact 10 kV solution. The VT33 provides a dedicated high-energy cable fault locator. These systems are used by utility crews and cable testing contractors to locate faults in underground power distribution cables.
