Overview
The HVI VLF Series provides very low frequency (0.1 Hz, 0.05 Hz, and 0.01 Hz) AC test voltage for medium and high-voltage cable withstand testing and diagnostics. VLF testing is the preferred method for XLPE and EPR cable testing because it stresses insulation similarly to power frequency without the damaging space charge effects of DC testing. The CM suffix indicates cosine-rectangular waveform with metering, CMF adds filtration, and E suffix indicates enhanced sine wave models with integrated tan delta diagnostics. Output voltages range from 28 kVpeak to 200 kVpeak. The TD-34E and TDB-60 add full tan delta and partial discharge diagnostic capability.
