HVI DTS Oil Dielectric Test Set Repair

Status: Current Production. We repair and calibrate all of them.

Common HVI DTS Series Problems We Fix

  • Won’t reach test voltage / output low or unstable — HV transformer insulation degradation
  • Inconsistent breakdown results — electrode erosion from repeated arcing
  • Test voltage reading drifting or inaccurate — voltage regulation drift
  • Oil test cell leaking — seal failure
  • Stirring motor not running or noisy
  • Digital control unresponsive / sequences won’t run (D models)
  • Display or printer not working

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does HVI DTS Series repair cost?

Repairs start with a flat evaluation fee that’s credited toward your repair cost. After we diagnose the instrument, you get a firm quote before any work begins — no surprises.

How long does the repair take?

Most HVI DTS repairs are finished within 5–10 business days of arrival, with expedited turnaround available if you need it back fast.

My breakdown results are inconsistent — can you fix that?

Yes. Electrode erosion from repeated oil breakdown arcing is one of the most common causes of inconsistent results, and it’s a routine repair that restores repeatable testing.

My test voltage reads inaccurate — can you recalibrate it?

Yes. We recalibrate output voltage and metering against our reference standards so results stay accurate to ASTM D877 and D1816, with documented results on a NIST-traceable certificate.

The oil test cell is leaking — is that repairable?

Yes. Oil test cell seal leakage is a routine repair, restored so the cell holds sample oil cleanly through the test cycle.

The stirring motor isn’t working — can you fix it?

Yes. Stirring mechanism and motor faults are repairable, restored so the sample is properly circulated between breakdown tests.

The digital control or test sequences aren’t working — can you repair the control board (D models)?

Yes. Digital control board faults that leave a D-model unresponsive or stop automated test sequencing are repairable at the component level.

What if my exact model isn’t listed?

We service every HVI DTS Series configuration, both analog A-models and digital D-models. If your model isn’t in the table, pick the closest match or email us — the process is the same.

Who uses the HVI DTS Series?

Transformer maintenance teams, oil testing laboratories, electric utilities, power generation facilities, and industrial high-voltage maintenance programs rely on the DTS Series to measure the breakdown voltage of insulating oil and catch moisture, particulate, or chemical contamination before it leads to transformer failure.
