Overview
The HVI DTS Series oil dielectric test sets measure the breakdown voltage of insulating oil used in transformers, circuit breakers, and other oil-filled electrical equipment. The DTS-60 models test to 60 kV and the DTS-100 models test to 100 kV. A-suffix models provide analog control while D-suffix models offer digital control with automated test sequencing and data storage. Oil breakdown testing is a critical element of transformer maintenance programs — degraded oil dielectric strength indicates moisture contamination, particulate contamination, or chemical deterioration that can lead to transformer failure.
