Description

Malvern Panalytical Zetasizer Advance Particle Analyzer Repair

The Zetasizer Advance range covers the Lab, Pro and Ultra instruments, measuring particle size by dynamic light scattering from 0.3 nm to around 10 microns, with extended analysis giving indicative results above that, and zeta potential from 3.8 nm to 100 microns using M3-PALS electrophoretic light scattering. Adaptive Correlation, constant current zeta mode and a deep-learning data quality adviser sit on top. Size and zeta run through different parts of the instrument, so which one has degraded tells us a great deal before we open anything.

June Company’s certified technicians repair the Zetasizer Advance for formulation scientists, biopharmaceutical developers, colloid and materials researchers and quality control laboratories. We diagnose and repair at the board and component level, and every instrument is functionally verified before it ships back.

Common Zetasizer Advance problems we fix

  • Laser output faults — intensity dropping, which lengthens measurements and weakens correlation quality.
  • Detector and APD faults — count rates falling or noise rising, degrading the correlation function.
  • Cell area contamination — residue or scratched cells producing poor data that looks like sample behavior.
  • Zeta potential electrode faults — degraded or fouled electrodes, which affect zeta measurements while size stays normal.
  • Electrophoresis electronics faults — M3-PALS measurements becoming unstable or failing to complete.
  • Temperature control faults — the Peltier stage drifting, which changes viscosity and therefore every size result.
  • Optical alignment faults — the detection optics out of position, reducing count rate and data quality.
  • Software and communication faults — ZS Xplorer not connecting, or results failing to save.
  • Backscatter and forward-scatter angle faults — a single detection angle failing, which affects some measurement types and not others.
  • Power supply faults — instability showing as intermittent measurement failure.

FAQs

Size measures fine but zeta potential does not. Is that one fault? It points straight at the electrodes or the electrophoresis electronics rather than the optics, because size and zeta use different parts of the instrument. That narrows the diagnosis considerably.

Which Advance models do you handle? Lab, Pro and Ultra. They share most of their platform, though the Ultra adds measurement capability the others do not have.

Do you supply cells and electrodes? Yes, and we will tell you when consumables rather than the instrument are the actual cause.

Every repair is backed by a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty, with a firm quote before any work begins. Email us or submit a service request.

Shipping & Returns

Packing your equipment. You are responsible for packaging equipment adequately for transit. We strongly recommend the original manufacturer’s case, or double-boxing with at least two inches of shock-absorbing material on all six sides. We return your equipment in the packaging it arrived in, so please send it in packaging that will survive the return trip as well. If your packaging is damaged or inadequate for the return, we will substitute suitable packaging and may charge the cost of materials.

Insurance. Equipment is not insured by June Company while in transit. We strongly recommend insuring your shipment for its full replacement value.

Risk of loss. Risk of loss remains with you until your equipment is received at our facility, and transfers back to you when your repaired unit is delivered to the carrier (F.O.B. shipping point). June Company is not responsible for equipment lost, delayed, misdelivered, or damaged in transit, in either direction.

Return label. A prepaid and preprinted return shipping label should be included with your shipment. If one is not included, we will provide one.

Transit damage. Damage occurring in transit is the responsibility of the carrier. It is not a warranty defect and is not covered by the 90-day repair warranty. Any claim must be filed by you with the carrier; we will supply photographs and documentation to support it at no charge.
