Description
Megger OTS60AF Oil Test Set Repair
The Megger OTS60AF is an automatic dielectric oil test set — it applies high voltage across a standardized cup of insulating oil and measures the breakdown voltage (to ~60 kV) to ASTM D877 and similar standards, to assess transformer-oil dielectric strength. It combines an HV source with breakdown detection and control, so faults span the HV side and the measurement/control side.
June Company repairs and calibrates the Megger OTS60AF for transformer-maintenance and oil-testing labs.
Common Megger OTS60AF problems we fix
- Breakdown-detection faults — the circuit that detects and captures the oil breakdown not triggering correctly, repaired.
- Won’t reach test voltage or output unstable — HV output-stage/transformer failure, repaired for stable rated output.
- Voltage-measurement off — the measurement your breakdown result depends on, recalibrated against standards (ASTM D877 / D1816 procedures).
- Automatic-sequence / control faults — the automated test cycle, restored.
- Stirrer, electrode-gap, or interlock faults.
FAQs
My OTS60AF breakdown results look wrong — fixable? Yes. HV and breakdown-detection faults are repairable, then the voltage measurement is recalibrated so breakdown results are accurate to standard, with a NIST-traceable certificate.
Is the test voltage verified? Yes — checked against our standards along with the detection circuit.
Every repair includes NIST-traceable calibration and a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty. Email us or submit a service request.
