The Fluke DSX-5000 is a copper cable certifier, and its calibration is what makes its pass and fail verdicts defensible. The instrument issues certificates that other people rely on, so verification covers both the main and remote units and the adapters they test through – a worn adapter produces failures indistinguishable from genuinely faulty cabling.
