Description

Rigaku CQL Gen-ID Raman Analyzer Repair

The CQL Gen-ID is the targeted member of Rigaku’s ResQ CQL family of 1064 nm handheld Raman analyzers, aimed at departments that need reliable identification of narcotics, explosives, precursors and household chemicals without the cost of the widest library. Like the rest of the family it scans through packaging and returns an answer in under a minute. It is a field instrument in the fullest sense, carried, dropped and left in vehicles through temperature extremes, and the repairs it needs reflect that far more than they reflect analytical complexity.

June Company’s certified technicians repair the ResQ CQL Gen-ID for fire services, hazmat teams, industrial safety groups, and emergency response agencies. We diagnose and repair at the board and component level, and every instrument is functionally tested against a known reference sample before it ships back.

Common ResQ CQL Gen-ID problems we fix

  • Battery, charging and power faults — shortened runtime, or shutdowns partway through a shift.
  • Laser output degradation — excitation power falling until spectra get noisy and library match confidence drops.
  • Sapphire window and nose-cone damage — scratching or clouding at the sample interface, which costs signal before it fails outright.
  • Optical alignment drift — throughput falling away after a drop or a shock, with peak positions no longer landing where the library expects.
  • Detector degradation — rising noise floor and falling sensitivity, most visible on weak bands and trace components.
  • Display and touchscreen failures — dim, dead or unresponsive panels, including digitizer faults that make the interface unusable in the field.
  • Trigger, keypad and interlock failures — the controls and safety interlocks that stop the instrument firing when they fail.
  • USB, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth communication faults — results not transferring to the host software, or the instrument not being recognized at all.
  • Housing, seal and ruggedization damage — cracked enclosures and failed gaskets after a drop, which let dust and moisture inside the instrument.
  • Failed startup self-check or calibration verification — the instrument no longer verifying correctly against its internal reference.

FAQs

It will not hold charge through a shift. Battery or charging circuit? Both are common and they are distinguishable on the bench, so you are not replacing packs that were never the problem.

The sapphire window is scratched. Does that matter? Yes — it costs signal before it fails outright, and it is a straightforward repair well worth doing.

Do you service the Max-ID and Narc-ID too? Yes, the whole ResQ CQL family comes through.

Every repair is backed by a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty, with a firm quote before any work begins. Email us or submit a service request.

Shipping & Returns

Packing your equipment. You are responsible for packaging equipment adequately for transit. We strongly recommend the original manufacturer’s case, or double-boxing with at least two inches of shock-absorbing material on all six sides. We return your equipment in the packaging it arrived in, so please send it in packaging that will survive the return trip as well. If your packaging is damaged or inadequate for the return, we will substitute suitable packaging and may charge the cost of materials.

Risk of loss. Risk of loss remains with you until your equipment is received at our facility, and transfers back to you when your repaired unit is delivered to the carrier (F.O.B. shipping point). June Company is not responsible for equipment lost, delayed, misdelivered, or damaged in transit, in either direction.

Return label. A prepaid and preprinted return shipping label should be included with your shipment. If one is not included, we will provide one.

Transit damage. Damage occurring in transit is the responsibility of the carrier. It is not a warranty defect and is not covered by the 90-day repair warranty. Any claim must be filed by you with the carrier; we will supply photographs and documentation to support it at no charge.
