Description
SCI 297 Hipot Tester Repair
The SCI (Slaughter Company / Associated Research) 297 is an electrical safety / hipot tester — it performs dielectric-withstand (hipot) and insulation-resistance testing for production safety compliance, applying high voltage and measuring leakage to pass/fail products. It combines an HV source with leakage metering, so faults span both sides.
June Company repairs and calibrates the SCI 297 for production safety-test and QC teams.
Common SCI 297 problems we fix
- Insulation-resistance function faulty — the IR measurement out of spec, recalibrated against standards.
- Leakage-current reading off — the metering your hipot pass/fail depends on, recalibrated.
- Won’t reach test voltage or unstable — HV output-stage failure, rebuilt for stable rated output.
- Interlock or timer faults — won’t energize, trips immediately, or wrong dwell, repaired.
- Display or control faults.
FAQs
My SCI 297 IR or leakage reading is off — fixable? Yes, and it’s the critical hipot repair. We recalibrate the metering against our standards so the numbers you certify against are accurate, with a NIST-traceable certificate.
Is the HV output verified? Yes — output is checked along with the metering.
Every repair includes NIST-traceable calibration and a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty. Email us or submit a service request.
