Description
SCI 298 Hipot Tester Repair
The SCI (Slaughter Company / Associated Research) 298 is an electrical safety / hipot tester — it performs dielectric-withstand (hipot) testing for production safety compliance, applying high voltage and measuring leakage current to pass/fail products, with a test timer and safety interlock. It combines an HV source with leakage metering, so faults span both sides.
June Company repairs and calibrates the SCI 298 for production safety-test and QC teams.
Common SCI 298 problems we fix
- Safety-interlock malfunctions — won’t energize or trips immediately, the interlock circuit repaired without compromising safety.
- Timer-circuit faults — the test timer not running or wrong, repaired so dwell times are correct.
- Won’t reach test voltage or unstable — HV output-stage failure, rebuilt for stable rated output.
- Leakage-current reading off — the metering your pass/fail depends on, recalibrated against standards.
- Display or control faults.
FAQs
My SCI 298 interlock or timer is acting up — fixable? Yes. Interlock and timer faults are repairable; we restore safe, correctly-timed operation and recalibrate the leakage metering so pass/fail is accurate, with a NIST-traceable certificate.
Is the HV output verified? Yes — output is checked along with the metering.
Every repair includes NIST-traceable calibration and a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty. Email us or submit a service request.
