Description

Rigaku Progeny ResQ Raman Analyzer Repair

The Progeny ResQ is the handheld 1064 nm Raman analyzer built for chemical threat identification in the field, returning a result in under a minute and reading through glass and plastic packaging so the operator never has to open a container. The 1064 nm excitation is the point: it suppresses the fluorescence that defeats shorter-wavelength Raman on real-world samples. Results are time-stamped and support digital signature for 21 CFR Part 11 workflows, and an onboard camera attaches images to reports.

June Company’s certified technicians repair the Progeny ResQ for hazmat teams, law enforcement, first responders, customs and border agencies and forensic laboratories. We diagnose and repair at the board and component level, and every instrument is functionally verified before it ships back.

Common Progeny ResQ problems we fix

  • 1064 nm laser faults — output dropping, which lengthens acquisition and weakens library matching before it fails outright.
  • Detector and spectrograph faults — sensitivity loss or noise degrading spectra and reducing match confidence.
  • Detector cooling faults — cooling performance falling, which raises the noise floor on an instrument that depends on a low one.
  • Wavelength calibration drift — spectra shifting, which produces wrong identifications rather than no identification.
  • Sampling window and optics faults — scratched or fouled windows reducing signal through packaging.
  • Camera faults — the onboard 5 MP camera failing, which breaks the evidence and reporting workflow.
  • Battery and charging faults — runtime falling short, which matters more on a response instrument than a laboratory one.
  • Trigger and keypad wear — controls failing after sustained field use in gloves.
  • Library, storage and reporting faults — results not saving, digital signature failing, or reports not exporting.
  • Housing and seal damage — cracked enclosures and failed seals after field deployment.

FAQs

Identifications have become unreliable. Is that the laser? Often, but calibration drift produces the same symptom and costs far less to fix. We test both before quoting, because a laser is the expensive wrong answer.

Do you preserve the spectral library and stored results? Yes. If any planned work would affect them we tell you first, which matters where records form part of an evidence chain.

Do you service the ResQ FLX and other Rigaku handhelds? Yes, including the ResQ FLX, Progeny, CQL and Icon-X instruments.

Every repair is backed by a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty, with a firm quote before any work begins. Email us or submit a service request.

Shipping & Returns

Packing your equipment. You are responsible for packaging equipment adequately for transit. We strongly recommend the original manufacturer’s case, or double-boxing with at least two inches of shock-absorbing material on all six sides. We return your equipment in the packaging it arrived in, so please send it in packaging that will survive the return trip as well. If your packaging is damaged or inadequate for the return, we will substitute suitable packaging and may charge the cost of materials.

Insurance. Equipment is not insured by June Company while in transit. We strongly recommend insuring your shipment for its full replacement value.

Risk of loss. Risk of loss remains with you until your equipment is received at our facility, and transfers back to you when your repaired unit is delivered to the carrier (F.O.B. shipping point). June Company is not responsible for equipment lost, delayed, misdelivered, or damaged in transit, in either direction.

Return label. A prepaid and preprinted return shipping label should be included with your shipment. If one is not included, we will provide one.

Transit damage. Damage occurring in transit is the responsibility of the carrier. It is not a warranty defect and is not covered by the 90-day repair warranty. Any claim must be filed by you with the carrier; we will supply photographs and documentation to support it at no charge.
