Description
Megger CB-100 Power Factor Tester Repair
The Megger CB-100 is a capacitance and dissipation-factor (tan-delta / power-factor) test set — it energizes insulation at high voltage and measures capacitance and dielectric loss to assess transformer, bushing, and insulation condition. It pairs an HV source with a precision loss/capacitance bridge, so faults span the HV side and the sensitive measurement side — not the transformer-turns-ratio faults its category label implies.
June Company repairs and calibrates the Megger CB-100 for insulation-diagnostics and transformer-maintenance teams.
Common Megger CB-100 problems we fix
- Excitation-current source degradation — the HV excitation source weakening, repaired so it energizes the insulation correctly.
- Power-factor / tan-delta readings off — drift in the loss-measurement bridge, recalibrated against standards.
- Capacitance readings inaccurate — the capacitance path, corrected.
- Bridge-balance faults — repaired.
- Display or control faults.
FAQs
My CB-100 power-factor numbers look wrong — repairable? Yes. Excitation-source and measurement-bridge faults are repairable and recalibrated so insulation condition assessments are trustworthy, with a NIST-traceable certificate.
Is the HV output verified? Yes — excitation voltage is checked along with the loss measurement.
Every repair includes NIST-traceable calibration and a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty. Email us or submit a service request.
