Description
Malvern Panalytical NanoSight Pro Nanoparticle Analyzer Repair
The NanoSight Pro measures nanoparticles by nanoparticle tracking analysis, sizing from 10 nm to 1000 nm and reporting concentration from roughly 10^6 to 10^9 particles per mL. It pairs a high-sensitivity sCMOS camera with interchangeable lasers at several wavelengths, and its NS Xplorer software uses machine learning to automate measurement and remove operator subjectivity. Because it counts individual particles optically, optical cleanliness and camera health are not maintenance details on this instrument, they are the measurement.
June Company’s certified technicians repair the NanoSight Pro for biopharmaceutical developers, extracellular vesicle researchers, vaccine and gene therapy groups and nanomaterials laboratories. We diagnose and repair at the board and component level, and every instrument is functionally verified before it ships back.
Common NanoSight Pro problems we fix
- sCMOS camera faults — sensitivity loss, hot pixels or noise, which changes particle counts before it looks like a fault.
- Laser module faults — output dropping or a wavelength module failing, which biases both size and concentration.
- Flow cell and optics contamination — residue or scratches in the cell degrading tracking quality.
- Fluidics and syringe pump faults — inconsistent flow, which undermines concentration measurement specifically.
- Temperature control faults — sample temperature drifting, which changes viscosity and therefore every size result.
- Focus and alignment faults — the optical path out of alignment, so particles are tracked poorly or missed.
- Software and analysis faults — NS Xplorer failing to launch, or measurements not saving.
- Communication and control faults — the instrument not being recognized by the host PC.
- Laser safety interlock faults — interlocks failing and correctly preventing operation.
- Power supply faults — instability producing intermittent, hard-to-reproduce behavior.
FAQs
Our concentrations have drifted but sizes look fine. What causes that? Usually fluidics or camera sensitivity rather than the lasers. Concentration is the more fragile of the two measurements and it degrades first, which is a useful diagnostic in itself.
Do you clean and service the flow cell? Yes, and we check it as a matter of course. Cell contamination explains a surprising share of what gets reported as instrument failure.
Do you service other NanoSight models? Yes, along with the wider Malvern Panalytical particle characterization range.
