Description

Thermo Scientific microPHAZIR RX Handheld NIR Analyzer Repair

The microPHAZIR RX is the handheld near-infrared analyzer built for GMP raw material identification at the loading dock rather than in the laboratory. It weighs 2.75 lb, runs five hours or more on an interchangeable lithium-ion pack that recharges in under two hours, measures in about a minute by diffuse reflectance with optional liquid adapters, and uses a tungsten source in a dust-proof, splash-proof housing. The model is discontinued, which makes repair the practical route rather than one option among several.

June Company’s certified technicians repair the microPHAZIR RX for pharmaceutical manufacturers, GMP quality assurance teams, contract manufacturers and incoming inspection groups. We diagnose and repair at the board and component level, and every instrument is functionally verified before it ships back.

Common microPHAZIR RX problems we fix

  • Tungsten lamp faults — source output falling, which weakens every spectrum and eventually fails identification outright.
  • MEMS scanning engine faults — the scanning element degrading, which shows as wavelength instability rather than a clean failure.
  • Detector faults — noise or sensitivity loss reducing the confidence of library matches.
  • Wavelength calibration drift — the analyzer no longer matching its validated method, which is a compliance problem in a GMP setting.
  • Sampling window wear — a scratched or clouded window changing diffuse reflectance measurements quietly.
  • Battery and charging faults — packs no longer holding the rated five hours, or failing to charge.
  • Trigger and keypad wear — controls failing after years of high-volume incoming inspection.
  • Display faults — dim or unresponsive panels.
  • Method and library faults — validated methods not loading, or results failing to store and export.
  • Housing and seal damage — compromised dust and splash protection after drops on a loading dock.

FAQs

The model is discontinued. Can you still repair it? Yes, and that is exactly why units come to us. We repair at board and component level, and where a part is genuinely unavailable we say so at quote stage rather than after stripping the instrument.

Will our validated methods survive a repair? Methods and libraries are preserved. If a board replacement would affect them we tell you beforehand, because revalidation is your cost, not a surprise.

Do you service other Thermo handheld analyzers? Yes, including the TruScan, TruDefender and Niton ranges.

Every repair is backed by a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty, with a firm quote before any work begins. Email us or submit a service request.

Shipping & Returns

Packing your equipment. You are responsible for packaging equipment adequately for transit. We strongly recommend the original manufacturer’s case, or double-boxing with at least two inches of shock-absorbing material on all six sides. We return your equipment in the packaging it arrived in, so please send it in packaging that will survive the return trip as well. If your packaging is damaged or inadequate for the return, we will substitute suitable packaging and may charge the cost of materials.

Insurance. Equipment is not insured by June Company while in transit. We strongly recommend insuring your shipment for its full replacement value.

Risk of loss. Risk of loss remains with you until your equipment is received at our facility, and transfers back to you when your repaired unit is delivered to the carrier (F.O.B. shipping point). June Company is not responsible for equipment lost, delayed, misdelivered, or damaged in transit, in either direction.

Return label. A prepaid and preprinted return shipping label should be included with your shipment. If one is not included, we will provide one.

Transit damage. Damage occurring in transit is the responsibility of the carrier. It is not a warranty defect and is not covered by the 90-day repair warranty. Any claim must be filed by you with the carrier; we will supply photographs and documentation to support it at no charge.
