Description
Haefely PSURGE 8000 Surge Testing System Repair
The PSURGE 8000 is a modular surge and transient immunity test system — used in EMC labs to subject products to combination-wave surges, ring waves, and related transients per IEC 61000-4-5 and similar standards. It’s a high-energy impulse generator with precision waveform control, so its faults split between the surge-generation/coupling hardware and the control and measurement electronics.
June Company repairs and calibrates the PSURGE 8000 for EMC test labs and product-compliance teams.
Common PSURGE 8000 problems we fix
- Surge output low, absent, or wrong waveform — impulse-generation or energy-storage faults that corrupt the combination wave, repaired so the surge meets standard.
- Coupling/decoupling network (CDN) faults — the CDN module that couples the surge onto the EUT lines, restored for correct coupling.
- Waveform out of tolerance — regulation and timing drift affecting rise time and peak, recalibrated to IEC waveform specs.
- Control software won’t communicate — the PC/control interface for the modular system.
- Module or interlock faults — safety and module-handshake circuits.
FAQs
My surge waveform is out of spec — fixable? Yes. Waveform problems trace to the impulse generator, energy storage, or CDN; we repair the affected stage and verify the waveform against the standard’s tolerances.
Do you verify it to IEC 61000-4-5? Yes — the surge waveform parameters are verified and documented with NIST-traceable calibration.
Every repair includes NIST-traceable calibration and a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty. Email us or submit a service request.
