Evident EPOCH 6LT Ultrasonic Flaw Detector Repair

The EPOCH 6LT is the ultra-portable member of the EPOCH family, built at 890 g and roughly 209 by 128 by 36 mm for rope access and single-handed operation, with a display that rotates to portrait so it stays readable strapped to a leg. It is rated IP67 with the connector cap fitted, runs about six hours on a single lithium-ion battery, works from minus 10 to 50 degrees C and stores 100,000 IDs onboard. Instruments that go over the side of a structure take a different kind of punishment from bench instruments, and the repairs reflect it.

FAQs

Ours took a fall on rope access. Is it repairable? Usually yes. We see a lot of drop damage on 6LTs and most of it is housing, seals and connectors. We quote after inspection so you have real numbers before deciding.

Can you restore the IP67 sealing? Yes, where the housing itself is sound. Seals and caps are replaceable, and we pressure-check before return.

Do you repair the other EPOCH models? Yes, the whole EPOCH line including the 650 and older units.

Shipping & Returns

Packing your equipment. You are responsible for packaging equipment adequately for transit. We strongly recommend the original manufacturer’s case, or double-boxing with at least two inches of shock-absorbing material on all six sides. We return your equipment in the packaging it arrived in, so please send it in packaging that will survive the return trip as well. If your packaging is damaged or inadequate for the return, we will substitute suitable packaging and may charge the cost of materials.

Insurance. Equipment is not insured by June Company while in transit. We strongly recommend insuring your shipment for its full replacement value.

Risk of loss. Risk of loss remains with you until your equipment is received at our facility, and transfers back to you when your repaired unit is delivered to the carrier (F.O.B. shipping point). June Company is not responsible for equipment lost, delayed, misdelivered, or damaged in transit, in either direction.

Return label. A prepaid and preprinted return shipping label should be included with your shipment. If one is not included, we will provide one.

Transit damage. Damage occurring in transit is the responsibility of the carrier. It is not a warranty defect and is not covered by the 90-day repair warranty. Any claim must be filed by you with the carrier; we will supply photographs and documentation to support it at no charge.
