Description
Chroma 61809 Grid Simulator Repair and Calibration
The Chroma 61809 is a regenerative grid simulator / programmable AC source — it generates programmable AC and emulates grid conditions and disturbances (with energy regeneration) for testing inverters, EV chargers, and grid-tied equipment. As a high-power regenerative AC system, its faults concentrate in the power stage, the regenerative/control electronics, and waveform generation — not the hipot/leakage faults its category label implies.
June Company repairs and calibrates the Chroma 61809 for grid-tie, inverter, and EV test labs.
Common Chroma 61809 problems we fix
- Output-regulation failure — output won’t hold the programmed setpoint, the regulation loop repaired and recalibrated.
- Regenerative / bidirectional faults — the power electronics that return energy, repaired.
- Waveform or grid-emulation off — waveform-generation faults corrupting test profiles, corrected.
- Measurement drift — the built-in metering, recalibrated against standards.
- Cooling or control-interface faults.
FAQs
My 61809 won’t regulate or emulate grid conditions — fixable? Yes. Regulation, power-stage, and waveform faults are repairable, then verified so it reproduces AC and grid profiles accurately, with a NIST-traceable certificate.
Is the regenerative mode verified? Yes — source and regeneration are both checked.
Every repair includes NIST-traceable calibration and a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty. Email us or submit a service request.
