Description
Sorensen XG20-76 Power Supply Repair and Calibration
The Sorensen XG20-76 Power Supply is a programmable power supply – it holds a commanded voltage or current under whatever load the device under test presents, and switches between constant-voltage and constant-current regulation as that load changes. The output stage does the work, and it is where the heat and the wear concentrate.
The Sorensen XG20-76 Power Supply is repaired at June Company by technicians who work on this class of instrument daily, for test engineers, production test departments, R&D laboratories, and equipment manufacturers. Every instrument is repaired at component level and verified against reference standards before it ships back, with the measured results documented.
Common Sorensen XG20-76 Power Supply problems we fix
- Output stage or pass-element failure.
- Current limit not holding at the set value.
- Output relay not switching.
- Cooling fan or thermal shutdown.
- Internal power supply faults.
- GPIB, LAN, USB or remote-control faults – which breaks automated test sequences while the instrument still works from the front panel.
- Display, keypad or front-panel faults.
- Output voltage or current out of tolerance under load – a supply can read correct on its own display while delivering something else to the load – readback and actual output are separate circuits and they drift separately.
- Will not regulate, or oscillates between CV and CC.
- Excessive ripple or noise on the output – invisible on the front panel and capable of corrupting whatever is being powered.
FAQs
Are the measurements verified after repair? Yes, against reference standards, with the measured results documented and returned with the instrument.
The display shows the right voltage but my circuit sees something else. How? Readback and actual output are separate circuits. A supply can report correctly while delivering incorrectly, which is why we verify the output under load rather than trusting the panel.
Every repair carries a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty, with a firm quote before any work begins. Email us or submit a service request.
