AT-2000 vs AT-1000: What’s the Difference?
Both models share the same body and the same core copper testing, but the AT-2000 is the higher-tier unit. The AT-1000 is copper-only and runs on a replaceable AA battery pack. The AT-2000 adds fiber-optic testing, a built-in rechargeable Li-ion battery, packet reflector mode for throughput testing, and IPv6 support. If your unit tests fiber or recharges from a wall adapter, you have an AT-2000; if it’s copper-only on AA batteries, it’s an AT-1000. What’s the difference between the AT-1000 and the AT-2000?
The AT-1000 is copper-only and runs on AA batteries. The AT-2000 adds fiber testing, a rechargeable Li-ion battery, packet reflector mode, and IPv6. We repair both — and if you’re not sure which you have, tell us whether it tests fiber or recharges from a wall adapter and we’ll identify it.
My LinkRunner won’t power on or won’t hold a charge — can you fix it?
Yes. Power and battery faults are the most common LinkRunner AT failures. On the AT-2000 we replace the worn rechargeable Li-ion pack and check the charging circuit and DC jack; on the AT-1000 we service the AA battery contacts and power circuit, so the unit boots and runs on a full charge again.
My RJ-45 test jack is loose or my wiremap results are wrong — is that repairable?
Yes. The main test port takes a beating in the field, and a worn or intermittent RJ-45 jack is one of the most frequent repairs on these. We replace the port and verify wiremap, cable length, and AutoTest so your results are trustworthy again.
The fiber port on my AT-2000 won’t link — can you fix it?
Yes. Fiber/SFP interface faults are specific to the AT-2000, and they’re repairable, restored so fiber link and test results come back correctly.
NetAlly told me it can’t be opened or repaired — is that true?
The manufacturer’s manual says not to open the case and points you toward replacement, which is part of why these get retired early. We repair them at the component level instead — for a discontinued meter with support ending in 2027, a repair keeps a tester you already trust in service for a fraction of replacement cost.
Can you recalibrate and certify it?
